The rules land in seconds. What you do with them is where the game actually lives.
Any tile on the board can be chosen, wherever it sits. They queue into the tray in the order you pick them, and when the reading forms a word you commit it and they clear.
Columns drop the moment you select, whether or not you finish the word. When the stack is closing in, that alone buys you room to breathe.
One six character word beats three three character words. Clear while the stack is still above the danger line and your score is multiplied by 1.5.
Everyday vocabulary, place names, personal names and kanji readings are all in there. The answer to "surely that counts?" is usually yes.
Play someone beside you over local Wi-Fi, or anyone in the world through Game Center. Both players get exactly the same tiles. Land a word of three characters or more during a combo and it rises from the bottom of your opponent's board.
Game Center leaderboards rank you against friends and the world, with ten achievements to collect.

Solo runs are free three times a day, and two player versus has no limit at all. If you want unlimited solo games there is a single one off purchase that removes the cap. That is the whole arrangement.
